The connection was not granted permission to post transactions. transmute uses the permissions the platform reports it granted when you connected — it never assumes more.

Common causes

  • The connection was made for file delivery only (before posting existed, or without capabilities: ["post"])
  • The platform granted a narrower permission set than requested

How to fix it

Reconnect with posting enabled: POST /v1/connections with {"provider": "xero", "capabilities": ["post"], "replaces": "<old id>"} (or Enable posting in the dashboard). A new connection is created; the old one is revoked once you approve, and its mappings move across (re-run the preview).

Does it bill?
